Staying the Course

Staying the Course

As you probably know, I recently assumed the role of President of United Bank upon the retirement of President and CEO Bob Jones. And while this might seem like an odd time to change leadership, Bob had been discussing retirement for a while, so his departure was anticipated.

That said, I want to assure you things will continue to operate as they have. It’s business as usual — especially in terms of partnering with Town-Country National Bank. In fact, the team that’s been working on the transition for months — Hal, Leah, Richard and I — is the same team working on it today. The relationships are the same, the plans are the same and we’ve had good, productive communications since Bob’s departure.

What’s more, the bank’s management team today is the same one that’s been working together for many years. Our strategies and goals remain the same, our application and execution will remain the same and we anticipate the same success going forward.

We’re very excited about our new partnership with Town-Country, a bank that’s been successful for a long time. We believe this is a natural fit that brings opportunity to all of us. As a team, we’ve been up to Camden many times and rest assured we’re here to support all of you during this transition.

Truth is, we’re a pretty easygoing group to integrate with here at United Bank. We’re open minded and collaborative. We don’t know everything, that’s for sure. We know you’re bringing a lot of wisdom, knowledge and experience to the table and we look forward to learning from each other. Again, welcome to United. We’re thrilled to partner with you for many years to come.
